MICE MOVES DIRECTIONS
_______________________
OBJECTIVE
The objective of Mice Moves is to push and position your blue mice
as high as you can onto your opponents side of the game board.
GAME PLAY
At the beginning of the game, there will be a game board that will
have your blue mice located at the bottom and your opponents red
mice at the top. The computer will randomly select the player who
will take the first move.
When it's your turn to move, a blue referee mouse will appear on the
bottom row of the game board. Using your arrow keys, you can maneuver
this referee mouse up, down, right or left. Your move will be complete
when you've pushed one of your blue mice either up, or to the right or
left. You cannot push your mice down. The values your mice have on each
row is indicated by the blue square to the left of the game board, and
the red's value is to the right. Each row represents 5 points. So a
blue mouse located on the 3rd row is worth 15 points (3*5)=15. The
higher you can get your mice to the top of the board, the higher the
point value will be. The same is true for the red mice, yet in reverse
from top to bottom.
If you can get your mice to reach the top row of the board, he will be
worth 100 points and will be taken off the game board. The values of
all the mice on the board, plus the mice you've pushed to the top of
the board will comprise your total score.
Each side will take turns pushing their mice until no further moves are
possible. If one side cannot make a move, then the other side will take
another turn if it is still possible for them to do so. If you push your
mouse to the very side of the game board either right or left, then it
will be removed from the board and NO POINTS will be awarded. Any player
that has a valid move must make a move even if it is to your
disadvantage to do so.
CHEESE BLOCKS
At the beginning of play the two sets of mice, both red and blue, are
set-up in an identical arrangement. There are also random cheese blocks
which are placed somewhere between the two opposing mouse teams. These
cheese blocks cannot be moved and will remain there for the remainder
of the game.
SCORING
The total running score for each side is located at the bottom of the
board. All the mice on the board carry a point value corresponding
to the row they are on. Therefore pushing a blue mouse from the 3rd row
(15 points) to the 5th row (25 points) will add 10 more points to your
score shown at the bottom. A blue mouse that reaches the very top row
will be worth 100 points and will be removed from the board.
STRATEGY
As you begin to play Mice Moves, you will see that sometimes it is not
to your advantage to always push your mice up the board, even though it
is worth more points at that moment. Strategically blocking your
opponents mice and trapping them at the top of the board becomes a
very important element if one is to succeed in having the highest point
total at the end of the game.
KEY ASSIGNMENTS
The key assignments below the game board can be accessed at anytime
during the game.
